About me
A reminder of perspective that grounds everything I build and explore.
“Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives.
The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every ‘superstar,’ every ‘supreme leader,’ every saint and sinner in our species lived there—on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.”
— Carl Sagan, Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space
The story of
May Han
Hi, I’m May.
Throughout my career, I’ve worn many hats: chemical engineer, university professor, investor, and author of computer science textbooks. At home, I am a devoted wife, mother, and daughter.
I approach life with boundless energy and a relentless curiosity for the unknown. Having lived across both the Eastern and Western hemispheres, explored over 50 countries, and completed multiple treks through the South Asian Himalayas, I’ve cultivated a deeply grounded, global perspective on human nature and resilience. This drive allows me to seamlessly bridge diverse worlds—whether as a mountain trail explorer, a passionate home chef, or a master hand-weaver. Yet, regardless of how my roles or surroundings evolve, applying engineering rigor and compound thinking to cultivate a well-lived life remains the guiding principle of my journey.
I firmly believe that time-tested, empirical wisdom is our strongest anchor in an uncertain world. On this digital homestead, I use essays, videos, and podcasts to document and share practical insights across two main pillars:
Sovereign Individuals & Business Building: Solopreneurship guides, business model breakdowns, and building enduring family enterprises;
The Order & Joy of Old-School Living: Low-maintenance gardening, efficient kitchen systems, heritage crafts, and sustainable family wealth management.
I’m so glad you’re here. I hope the ideas and practices shared on these pages inspire and empower your own journey.
